FREE · GROSS BEAT ALTERNATIVE · VST3 / AU
A free Gross Beat alternative you play like a Rubik's cube.
Gross Beat ($99) is great at half-time, tape stops and stutters. SCRAMBLE covers those core moves for free, then adds delay, reverb, tape, chops and pitch on top. Every twist of the cube is a new combination, and solving it takes you back to dry.

The Gross Beat moves, covered.
Half-time
STUDIO's half-time reels drop your loop to half speed for the slowed, heavy section.
Tape stop
The slow-down-to-nothing drop, locked to your tempo.
TIME effect
MORE FX's TIME rewrites every 16th note: normal, half speed, reverse, repeat or stop. The closest thing to a Gross Beat pattern, picked by the cube.
Plus the rest
Delay throws, reverb, tape warmth and pitch, so you don't stack four plugins to get one flip.
How to get the sound.
- Put SCRAMBLE on a loop, a beat or the master and pick STUDIO for half-time and tape stops.
- Twist the cube. Each position is a different chain; Solve takes you back to dry.
- Want Gross Beat-style movement? Turn on the sequencer so the cube twists on the beat, or automate a twist into a drop.
SCRAMBLE is out now, and it's free.
All 8 FX modes, the full cube, the sequencer and 237 presets. Mac + Windows, no card needed.
Questions
Is SCRAMBLE really a free Gross Beat alternative?
For the core moves, yes: half-time, tape stops and stutters are in the free version, along with 8 FX modes and 237 presets. It doesn't copy Gross Beat's volume/time envelope editor; you get the moves by twisting a cube instead of drawing curves.
Does it work outside FL Studio?
Yes. VST3 + AU on Mac (Logic, Ableton, FL Studio, Studio One and more) and VST3 on Windows. Not Pro Tools yet (no AAX).
Is the half-time and tape stop in time?
Yes. Everything follows your DAW's tempo.
Does it work on Mac and Windows?
Yes. Mac gets VST3 and AU (Apple Silicon and Intel). Windows gets VST3 plus a standalone app. It loads in FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro and other DAWs. Not Pro Tools yet (no AAX).
