BLACK FRIDAY 2026 · BUYER'S GUIDE
Black Friday plugin deals: what's actually worth it.
Every plugin company is running a sale right now. Here's how to spend less and get more: what's worth buying for vocals, drums, loops and synths, when a free plugin already does the job, and what's on sale from us. Written by Jordon Lumley, producer and maker of SCRAMBLE..
Black Friday 2026 is over. The Bundle is back to $99. SCRAMBLE. itself is still free, and this page comes back next November.
Five rules before you buy anything.
- Buy for a problem you had this month. If you can't name the beat it would've fixed, it's a want, not a need.
- Try the free version first. Most plugin companies have a demo or a free tier. A week of use beats any review.
- Check the "regular" price. Lots of plugins are "70% off" most of the year. Check the price history before you rush.
- Bundles only win if you'll use half of it. 40 plugins you never open isn't a deal.
- Check your DAW + OS. AAX for Pro Tools, Apple Silicon support, Windows ARM. Easy to miss in a hurry.
Vocals: tuning, mixing, effects
Vocal chains are where producers overspend most. Before you buy a $200+ suite, check if you need more than tune, compression, EQ, de-ess and some space. SCRAMBLE.'s VOCAL mode does those in one screen, with TUNE in the free version and 100 vocal mixing presets in the Bundle. When a big suite is the better pick, our comparison pages say so.
Drums, 808s and the drum bus
Drums usually need character more than another compressor: saturation, transient punch, a pump, a bit of grit. SCRAMBLE.'s drum bus, 808 and hat folders cover that, and the $19 Trap and Rage kits are the cheap way in. A dedicated transient designer or clipper is still worth it if you mix other people's records every day.
Loops, samples + creative FX
The famous creative FX (Gross Beat, ShaperBox, RC-20, Portal, Soundtoys) are great and go on sale every year. If you mostly flip loops, try a free option first: a lot of producers find one fast, twistable plugin gets used more than five deep ones.
Synths
Synth deals are the easiest to overbuy: one synth you know deeply beats three you scroll presets in. Free ones like Vital are excellent. Paid ones earn their price on sound design depth or a library you'd actually play. MUTANT., our layering synth, is $39 on pre-order (then $69), out Dec 15; each comparison page below says honestly when the other synth wins.

Questions
When are Black Friday plugin deals in 2026?
Black Friday is Friday November 27 and Cyber Monday is November 30, but most plugin companies start in early November and run sales until around December 7.
Are Black Friday plugin deals really the lowest price of the year?
Often, but not always. Some plugins are discounted most of the year, so check the regular price and past sales before buying.
Should I buy a big plugin bundle on Black Friday?
Only if you'll use most of it. A bundle of 40 plugins you never open costs more than the one plugin you use daily.
What's a good free plugin to start with?
Start with your DAW's stock plugins, then add a few free ones that fill gaps. SCRAMBLE. is free and covers creative FX, drum bus color and a vocal chain in one plugin.
Is SCRAMBLE. free?
Yes. The free version has all 8 FX modes, the whole cube, the sequencer, 237 presets and VOCAL mode with TUNE. No time limit, no card. The Bundle unlocks the full 2,800-preset library.
