SCRAMBLE is a free VST3/AU effects plugin for Mac and Windows where every twist of a Rubik's cube rewires tape, delay, reverb, pitch and slicing on your audio.

SCRAMBLE is a free multi-effect plugin built around a playable Rubik's cube. Each of the cube's 43 quintillion positions is a different effect setting: twist a face and the sound changes, hit Solve and you're back to dry. Eight FX modes cover clean tape and delay, glitch, chopped beats, vocal texture, drums, an all-out chaos mode and MORE FX (19 beat-synced effects), and a VOCAL mode mixes vocals with tune, compression, delay and reverb. A 16-step sequencer can twist the cube on the beat. It works on loops, drum buses, 808s and bass, hats, vocals and the master bus. Free with 237 presets; an optional bundle has 2,800, including 100 vocal mixing presets.

SCRAMBLE turns effect design into a puzzle. Instead of a wall of knobs, the plugin shows a 3D Rubik's cube. Every sticker is wired to part of the effect chain, so each twist moves the sound somewhere new: more tape wobble, a tempo-synced stutter, a reversed slice, a darker room. There are 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 cube positions, and Solve always brings the audio back to dry.

Eight FX modes decide what the cube controls. STUDIO covers tape, half-time reels, delay, reverb and tape stops. CHAOS stacks crush, fold, stutter, freeze, warp and reverse. AFTER HOURS gives a muffled, pitched-down, late-night sound. VOCAL TEXTURE makes clean vocals sound sampled from a record. DRUMS brightens, thickens, clips and widens drums. BEAT SCRAMBLE cuts each bar into 16 slices and rearranges them in time. GLITCH adds octave jumps, buzzing stutters and hard pans, made for hyperpop guitars. MORE FX adds 19 beat-synced effects, including CHOP (16-step volume, filter and pan patterns), TIME (half-time, reverse, rolls and tape stops), CHOPS (re-sequenced pitched slices), PUMP, VINYL, RADIO, ROBOT, HARMONY, SHIMMER and BLUR. VOCAL mode turns the cube into a vocal chain: TUNE with key and scale, compression, and a space section with delay, reverb, echo, doubling and width.

A 16-step sequencer twists the cube automatically on the beat, and every position can be saved as a preset. SCRAMBLE also detects the key of whatever you play through it. It isn't just for loops: use it on a drum bus, 808s and bass, hats, vocals (the VOCALS page) or the master bus (STUDIO mode with MIX turned down). The free version includes every mode, the full cube, the sequencer, 237 presets, and VOCAL mode with 10 vocal presets and TUNE. The SCRAMBLE Bundle adds the full library of 2,800 presets (including 100 vocal mixing presets in 9 style folders), the vocal compression and space controls, and PICK KEY, which moves any loop to any major or minor key.
